@All The codes are now pushed to the repository which closes this month's IBOTM! See you in a few days for voting for April's IBOTM. This time, there will be a nice surprise...

Re: Prototype of AROS ABIv0 emulator for 64-bit AROS
It's a lot of work doing what you are doing. But it is much appreciated. Thank you for improving AROS. It's getting better every day! :)

Re: Prototype of AROS ABIv0 emulator for 64-bit AROS
Hello Everyone, Another update from me. As mentioned last time, right now the main focus is on enabling loading 32-bit libraries under emulator. The general approach is to re-use as many as possible of 32-bit libraries directly while emulating only the minimal needed set. The reason is quite simple: writing emulation code takes time and is prone to have bugs and incompatibilities that need to be found and fixed. So far it is clear that following libraries will have to be emulated: exec, dos, intuition, graphics, cybergraphics and layers. Following libraries can potentially be used as-is: aros, asl, autoinit, commodities, coolimages, crt, diskfont, gadtools, icons, iffp**** keymap, locale, m, muimaster, stdlib, utility, workbench. Attached is a screen shot of debug log of libraries being opened when starting up 32-bit ABIv0 calculator program. So far opening of all libraries has not yet completed - this is current work in progress. If anyone one is interested in details how the prototypes is coded, you can find the source code here: https://github.com/deadwood2/AROS/tree/AoA/workbench/tools/AoA

Re: Irritating bug of the month - March 2024
Well if no of your devices are detected (neither CDROM nor HDDs) that this is a different problem altogether. Have ahci.device ever worked on this hardware? Can you give me PCI vendor ID and product ID of your hardware's AHCI chipset?

Re: Irritating bug of the month - March 2024
I tried but the cd-rom doesn't work maybe because the achi driver is out of date, I'm not referring to this one you released but the one that is in the latest build

Re: Irritating bug of the month - March 2024
Yes, CDROMs connected to SATA should work. There is code to support them as well as I tested them in VirtualBox. Note however this bug is about wrong disk size reported by ahci.device, so I haven't tested CDROM extensivelly.

I have tested this version of your AHCI-driver and found no problems.

Re: Irritating bug of the month - March 2024
Here is another version for tests: https://axrt.org/development/ahci.device-0.9b.i386-aros.zip *) recognizes hard disks bigger than 8GB *) improved boot times by more than 50% *) uses 60 MB of RAM less Unless problems are found, this will be the "final" version for this IBOTM
