My focus in on consumer cards - I most likely won't be testing any other cards then the ones already listed listed in this thread (+ some mobile chipset).

You can already install the first alpha driver and check if you cards are recognized.

Sorry for the delay in testing. This is on my i7 machine using the iso from the first post installed to USB with the hidd from post 35.

Using my 8400 via VGA - boots fine, many screen resolutions listed and I was able to set one of 1900x1200.

Swapping in an 970 using the digital connector, boot seemed to go OK up until the end of the kernel messages ('keyboard reset failed'Wink but then just a blank, black screen. No change with other boot options or adding 'noacpi'.

Cheers,
Nigel.

About 970 - I bought GTX 950 and learned that it requires firmware loading. It will be added, but it is not the focus right now. If you have some spare cash and still would like to get something better than 8400 I'd suggest everything from 2xx up to 6xx series.

Thanks for letting me know, tt was the card that came with the computer. I'll be happy to go back to the 8400 for the moment :-).

Cheers,
Nigel.

That's interesting then that the 750ti worked. It's actually a Maxwell based gpu, but just named "750ti" (9x0 series).
Do you know why that may be? Would/should all Maxwell gpu's require firmware loading?
Just for my own geek curiosity Smile

Hard to say TBH. What I observe is that my GTX 750 works (Maxwell) but my GTX 950 already requires firmware. Also someone else has GTX 760 which give similar symptoms to my GTX 950.
