I've tried already like 4 times. I can burn perfectly v1.0 from the portable distro, but not the new 1.1 one: it does not boot

In AROSOne64 1.1, I noticed a regression on the ASUS P8Z68V LX motherboard. After selecting the default option or the VESA option in Grub, the screen goes black. Only safe VGA and the early boot menu start up.

There is no problem on VBoX and VMWare, it boots fine.

Regression on ASUS P8Z68V LX looks like a system issue. I will be looking into that.

Do I get it right that you tried 1.0 via AROS Portable and 1.1 via native ISO build? If so, what would make sense is to run and update on you 1.0 AROS Portable to update it to 1.1 as your hardware might not be supported by native AROS yet.

If you add ‘noacpi’ to all strings, they should start, although it will always be a VESA resolution.

Which version of RUFUS are you using? Before writing the image, did you try renaming the extension from .VHD to .IMG?
On some versions of RUFUS, you need to rename the extension to write the image to the USB stick correctly.

Yep. But I thought it was the same distro and I didn't know update must work and is ready. In fact the order of events were that I tried 1.1 first and after giving up, tried 1.0 just to test if it worked.

Anyway I think it would be good to state clrealy if an ISO/USB distribution of an update is portable/bootable or not

4.9, and yep, I renamed it. And tried Balena also. I used a 3.0 stick. 1.0 work like charm, but don't know why, even being smaller, it takes longer to burn

AROS One 1.1 ISO is bootable on hardware mostly from around 2015 era and on VMs. On newer hardware USB will not function. That is why we provided AROS Portable so that people with modern hardware can also enjoy AROS.

I ran into the same problem, ArosOne 64 1.0 booted fine, no audio though,
So I was excited to try 1.1, but only vga safe mode works, not even VESA works, even with the same parameters as vga safe mode (ATA=nodma noacpi)

Sound worked in the new one though in vga mode.
Guess I'll wait for a new one that boots at least VESA mode
USB worked fine, I had a "waiting for boot media" for a few seconds, then black screen and hard hang after that in all other boot options

Assuming you have the same issue as reported by @retrofaza, there should be a fix for this regression tomorrow.

Is you CPU an Intel IvyBridge family?

EDIT: Please check AROS One support thread where @AMIGASYSTEM published the fix.

No its not Ivy bridge, its sandy bridge core i3 2130,
using a external GF 8400GS

Ill try the fix you posted and report back

VESA mode works after copying the fix into /Devs,
time to play with 64 bits of awesome :-)
