Hi,

Thanks, sadly no change

Just to try, I cut down hdaudio.config down to 2 lines, one being the audio controller and the next the codec but same result.

@Jeff1138 - Hi,

(snip)

Also the rtl8169 driver dhcp auto sets up fine on native 32bit Aros One but does not on the 64bit iso native install.

Just wondered if others have spotted this or do I need to investigate further my end?

I'm using the rtl8169 driver and for me it does work both with DHCP and manual, but I guess there are other variables , particularly router,

Cheers,
Nigel.

Is 32-bit version of rtl8169 working for you on this hardware?

Yes it is but just to be clear is also does work for for me with 64 bit, both DHCP and manual.

Cheers,
Nigel.

P.S. I've just tried a rexx propgem under 64 bit but got "Could not start RexxMast; no Rexx interpreter seems to be installed"

Is rexx a ToDo? Thanks.

You need Rexx/Regina components from contrib for it to work.

Thanks - looks like I didn't copy those across. I'll give it a try later.

Cheers,
Nigel.

deadwood The TAR command on 64-bit does not work well!

If you try to view the list of a BZ2 or TGZ archive (parameter -tvf), the first command works fine, but if you repeat the command, you will get a message saying that the archive is corrupted.

On 64 Bit, even ZunARC cannot unpack BZ2 archives, while on AROS 32Bit, the TAR command works fine both from Shell and from ZuneARC (same configuration used on 64Bit).

I am attaching a screenshot of Shell and a video of ZuneARC.

Back to Wanderer prefs. When I was previously having problems, deleting the [refs file and saving a fresh version worked. However, I've just tried to adjust the drawer settings again and once more a crash (please see attached), so it looks like rather than a corrupt file or an issue with a 32 bit file on 64 bit, the crash occurs when trying to update an already existing but correct file.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Can you provide me with as little as possible modified 64-bit wanderer prefs file that will crash after chaing options in Prefs/Wanderer (and describe what options are needed to change)?

I am attaching the config file. I only modified the screen mode (Workbench Use) and reduced the window size.
After saving, if you run Dopus4 again, the buttons do not work and the button text disappears, as shown in the screenshot.

All the other issues mentioned remain even with this mode.

Sorry, the question about config was for @ntromans and Wandere prefs. With regards to DOpus you mentioned in another thread "Guru" when configuring, but now you wrote that you modified and created a config - so I'm confued - is there a crash or not when working with DOpus configuration?

Please see the attached. To cause the crash:

Wanderer prefs => appearance tab => drawer advanced => icon tab => select use tansparancy when dragging => use button => crash

It also happenes when setting the number of lines to display on the labels tab (again when pressing the use button).

Cheers,
Nigel.

ntromans, I used your configuration and I agree with the guru. Your configuration is probably corrupted. Try deleting it and recreating a new one from scratch!

This one was copmplteted from scratch, aside fro the transparaency setting. My point is I think you can create a prefs file 'from scratch' but once you try to add to it you get the crash.

Cheers,
Nigel.

The contrib still contains a very old version 2.0 of ‘FileX’, which is also a shareware version and therefore unusable.

Aminet has versions 2.6 and 2.7, which include the source code and are not shareware!

Please try this Prefs/Wanderer. Bug was triggered by changing background from image to gradient.

@AMIGASYSTEM

Sure, it would be nice to have an updated version of FileX, but why do you say the current version is unusable? Do you mean technically, legally or morally? Because it seems to work fine for me without restrictions, it is freely distributable, and if it's later been released as freeware/open-source, we shouldn't feel any obligation to pay the original shareware fee.

@ncafferkey

FileX is unusable for two reasons: it crashes when you exit the programme, and if you run it from Wanderer ‘Icon Tool’, an annoying request appears for a few seconds indicating that the programme is shareware, see screenshot (reference build used).

The filex-2.7-morphos version on Aminet does not have these limitations and includes the source code.
