Regarding rounded frames: it's for frames around UI elements, like a Group frame can be rounded. Go to Prefs/Zune, select Group, select frames on the right hand side, it will open a window. In that windo you can now click enable and the use the two sliders to set how rouding works.

Lasso: there were changes in selecting multiple icons with a mouse, but I don't remember the details.

Ok deadwood thanks for the information

I would like to point out an old oddity that also occurred with all previous 32/64-bit builds!

If you try to copy text ‘AmigaKey Dx + C’ or ‘F12 + C’ in the Fonts Prefs GUI, the GUI closes immediately.

This does not happen on the GUIs of other apps!

Regarding Font Prefs, it would be important (as on Amiga) to implement font colours, even if only white or black, which is very important if you want to use white or very light backgrounds on Wanderer.

Amiga + C is probably the MUI/Zune shortcut for the Cancel button?

This also happens with Pointer preferences, but not with Network preferences, Open URL, Wanderer preferences, or Zune preferences.

@deadwood

I have configured rounded frames on all elements, but I haven't found a way to round the ‘Inactive’ buttons, see screenshot.

Nasty crash when trying the new copy function from the shell (please see attached). To generate this I just typed a few charaters into a shell, highlighted them and selected the copy menu item. After hitting 'more' the machine locked up (hence the need to photograph the screen). I've tried a few times both booting from CD and from a SSD install with the same result. This was on my i5 laptop.

Cheers,
Nigel.

Hmm, it doesn't crash for me. Tried both hosted and native under VBox, We will have to wait for more tests I guess.

If you use the Pop-Up Menu, the ‘copy’ function does not work properly.
Sometimes it does not copy, and occasionally it crashes or restarts the system.

The ‘copy’ function works well if you use the AmigaKey Dx + C keys.

Even on this build, the Copy command in Dopus4 crashes, rarely when copying from the hard drive and very frequently when copying from a shared network drive, Dopus4 32-bit version the Copy command never crashed.

Agreed that the keyboard shortcut for copy works fine. For paste, the menu item works too.

Nigel.

I've been trying the new rounded frame, it's a really nice addiiton to the overall look but I was wondering is there any way to globally retrospectively apply these to any application which already has its own Zune prefs set rather than having to do each one individually?

Cheers,
Nigel.

All Mui/Zune-based apps can have rounded buttons, including ScreenGrabber, PSI and ZunePaint, see screenshot, you forgot to configure some elements.

As mentioned above, only inactive buttons cannot be rounded.

In the upcoming AROS One 64Bit, all Zune themes will have rounded buttons, albeit to a lesser extent to avoid artefacts at the corners (on some types of buttons, they do not have good transparency).

Just changes my comment above after realising it was due to some applicarions haveing their own ZUne prefs set and thus not taking the global preferences.

Nigel.

If you have default settings on each app and want to round off its buttons, it's easy. Once you've opened the app, call up Zune Prefs from the app's Zune menu, make your changes and save. If the app doesn't have a menu, you'll need to enable the Zune Prefs gadget. If you don't know how to do this, I've made a short video demonstration.

I have it all set in the global ZUNEPREFS and obviously could set it for each application that has its own prefs but was I was wondering if it was possible to avoid having to do this seperately for exach individual application.

I'm guessing that when you save a specific applicaion's Zune prefs it just saves all aspects of them, including the parts you haven't actually changed for that application. I suppose the ideal situation would be if it only saved those parts that are set differently form the global settings, so any not specific to the application would always still be taken from ZUNEPREFS (essentially object-orientated with the application's prefs still inheriting the current settings of the global if not overridden); in that way any new features such as rounded corners could be automatically inherited by all applications. However, I imagine this would require a really major reworking of Zune internals.

Cheers,
Nigel.

I would suggest starting with ‘only’ global.perefs in ENVARC, which includes the basic configurations for all applications, such as fonts, backgrounds, or rounded keys.

If you then want to customise any apps in a particular way, you need to configure and save your configurations in ENVARC. In the meantime, I recommend not using and deleting ‘ZUNEPREFS.prefs’, which is normally only used by ENV as a temporary configuration.

If you want to customise a particular app, then you need to configure and save its settings in ENVARC.

Once you have done this, the customised app will have its own preconfigured settings, while all the others will have the default global.prefs settings.

I tried integrating this new build on AROS One, and I would say that the rounded buttons give it a more pleasant and professional look. Apart from the issues reported, there is also a general improvement in stability.

This build has really improved the AROS experience, making it smoother and faster.

Zune Prefs has also become more stable, but there is still an old problem and one related to the rounding of buttons.

I am attaching a video where you can see the doubling of windows when ZunePrefs is run from the App preferences. For the buttons, some types see OWB Buttons and Icons, then 3 white dots appear at the bottom of the buttons and icons.
