You should try creating AI software to see for yourself it seems easy, but it isn’t.

@AMIGASYSTEM

Are you using local coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode) from Windows or Linux or are you working with free "chat based" tools like ChatGPT or Gemini?

Absolutely false. Ambient could be ported by fixing the missing gaps it needs. Not making Zune 100% MUI- Compatible.

it's about 6-8 functions tbh.

Have you tried it (porting it)?

I've had it running ... as I stated here I got bored with it. however it doesn't take a rocket surgeon ;D to realize Ambient does not use 100% of the functions of MUI Wink

The video card has nothing to do with the AI's short-term memory.

This means that either you're using a commercial LLM (which has a long context. So you don't perceive any problematic with your projects) or you don't know of what you're talking about (since using local LLMs restricts a lot their context, due to the much limited available VRAM).

Even at the height of the discussion, if you make a mistake when asking for something, it misinterprets you and deletes everything; then, if you continue, it no longer remembers anything it was doing—basically, you have to remind it of everything yourself, but it’s like starting from scratch.

Those issues might happen, but it's not set in the stone that they'll always happen.

Again, it depends on many variables.

I've Copilot at work where I can use any model that I like, and... I use it (only for projects for the company). It's a piece of charm, especially when I used Claude (the best for coding. Seriously).

At home I've a 1050Ti with only 4GB VRAM (in reality I've the gaming PC with a 3060Ti, but it's almost always used by sons), so I'm very limited (I'm looking forward to get a card with at least 16GB. But they are very expensive in this period), and I only do small things.

Then why don't release it?

Ambient is very complex and complete, so it might have used (it and its tools).

Anyway, good that someone has already checked it. Now... release it, even if not yet complete, and you'll make happy the MorphOS aficionados. ;-)

Why waste time porting Ambient to AROS ,Instead port mui5 or improve Wanderer, I like Wanderer as base and use Dopus5, btw what advantages Ambient has over wanderer?

I have learned recently it is more configurable including context menu like on magellan

so it is somewhere between wanderer/workbench and magellan
