Concerning the icon it was just a Guru report, on 32bit "no Guru" appears if you run a Monitor from the icon, also both Native and VESA.

The updated driver "vmwaresvga.hidd" I had copied it correctly in Devs/Drivers

As mentioned I only left Vmware "without icon" in the Monitor folder and I get a 4-colour screen, if I also copy "VMWare.info" after the GRUB I get the Guru shown in the screenshot !

It may be that VMware 12 has this problem, unfortunately VMware 16 is not supported by Win7, I will have to try on some other PC.

If you remove the VMWare icons from DEVS:Monitors then the driver will not be autostarted and you will be reverted to 640x480x4 VGA screen (I guess this is what is happening judging from your description). Any newer version of VMWARE than 12 that is supported on Win7?

I know that without the icon the monitor is not automatically activated on "AROS", on Amiga however the monitor without .info is automatically activated anyway.

The latest supported version of WMware is version 12.5, the later requires Win8 or higher !

At the moment I can't test version 16 my laptops don't support 64Bit virtualisation (there are no entries needed in the Bios)

deadwood, do you know whether AmiSSL will be ported to 64Bit? there are programmes such as AmiTranslate that do not work without AmiSSL (cannot translate).

I don't know at this point. Once the release is made, we will have to look into what essential software is missing, which can be replaced with having a more updated browser, etc.

Thanks deadwood but with the new GCC 10 you can update owb to the latest Webkit used by Wayfarer

I don't think it's possible to update to the latest as it alredy requires GCC 13, but definatelly it's possible to update to some newer WebKit version.

Not at this time. Engine updates will have priority.

Maybe, but it's not planned for 2025. For now AxRuntime has multicore enabled.

deadwood, the compilation on "VMWare Native" does not work well, I tried to compile the "ZapperNG" software, the compilation was successful, but if I try to run ZapperNG I get a Guru

If I compile the same sources on VMware Linux Hosted instead, ZapperNG works perfectly and no guru appears

I'm doing some checking because I should report more bugs!

Hmm, that should not happen. Do you have kernel updated with latest patches? Is ZapperNG the only program that suffers from this or also other software compiled on native gives problems? Did you do a cross check - compile on native and run on hosted and compile on hosted and run on native?

My systems are always up to date, I do this as patches arrive, eventually I recreate a system and redo the tests!

All the software I compile I test on both native and hosted, at the moment only Zapperng has given me this problem.

I re-did the Test and nothing has changed (I don't know if I'm wrong or missing something), the compilation on VMware Native gives a Guru on the "Icon.library"

There is also the "ZuneHexEditor" software, once compiled on both AROS Hosted and AROS Native, it generates a Guru on the "NList.mcc"

Ok, I added checking native compiler under native build to my TODO list.

deadwood, these are other Bugs encountered, if you need I can create comprehensive videos

- 32/64Bit Native VMware -> if you rename harddisk DH0, renaming is no longer possible afterwards
- 64Bit Hosted Linux -> Error Dopus4 copied files are 0 Byte

- 64Bit Native VMware - Hosted Linux -> FileMaster Contrib Guru
- 64Bit Native VMware - Hosted Linux -> The keyboard always writes strange characters (solved by pressing the Ctrl key)

- 64Bit Native VMware - Very slow Pendrive disconnection, Pendriver icon on Wanderer does not disappear

- 64Bit Native VMware -> Mplayer Play Radio Streaming, run from Icon -> On Guru exit, solves with a 120,000 high Stack (on 32Bit no stack is required)
- 64Bit Hosted Linux -> Mplayer Play Radio Streaming, run from Icon - > On Guru exit, stack increase does not resolve (different Guru)

20250206-64D11-P04

https://axrt.org/development/20250206-64D11-P04.zip

Changes:
- booting on Dell Latitude D520 and Gigabyte GA-H55M-S2H no longer require 'noacpi' switch (deadwood)
- fixed wrong row/column values in Editor title bar (DreamOS82)
- fixed crash at reboot/shutdown in i8042.hidd (deadwood)
- initial work on wide char support in C library (Deremon)

Note: first listed change could cause regression. Be sure to check if your hardware is still booting after applying patch.
