We have a working 64-bit version of Aquaria for now, but the port still needs some fine-tuning

Great game! I've created the Pekka Kana 2 icons in the AROS One style, I've attached the file!

New port of the platformer “Pekka Kana 2.” I'll be uploading it to Archives soon.

Okay, the problem with saving is in the test_2 binary.

Now, just to be 100% sure, check if the version from the archives works properly for you.

OK, sorted. Sorry for the trouble I caused, it was a translation issue: I’d translated ‘Backspace’ as ‘Spacebar’, and pressing it would bring up some messages.

I’ve noticed that the left and right Ctrl keys can now be configured; previously, you couldn’t set them. The issue with saving the arrow key settings still remains.

Just an idea: are you both using the same locale/keyboard settings?

It works fine on my VMware too :/ Could you share the full image of your VMware setup with me, including the configuration? Because if I can't reproduce this bug on my end, I'm not sure what else I can do.

No, nothing’s changed. Is it working fine for you with VMware?
A few other users should test it to see if it’s just me having the problem.

Please check these binaries to see if the Backspace behavior changes for you in any way:

I can confirm the behaviour you described, which is exactly what I mentioned in my previous post

So, here’s how the Backspace key behaves for you:
1. From the Main menu to the Title screen – works
2. From Play to the Main menu – works
3. From Settings to the Main menu – doesn’t work
4. From Stats to the Main menu – doesn’t work
5. From Links to the Main menu - does not work
6. From Skin editor to the Main menu - works
7. From Color editor to the Main menu - works
8. From Credits to the Main menu - does not work

Please confirm that this is EXACTLY how it behaves.

Even with this new executable, nothing changes, I'm still using VMware!

@AMIGASYSTEM

Unfortunately, I can't reproduce this bug on my end (I've tested it on various computers, on QEMU, on VirtualBox, and in a hosted environment - it works fine everywhere).

But we’ll try to do something anyway - test this binary and let me know if anything changes for you:

When you access the submenus listed below, you cannot save your progress or return to the main menu. No gameplay is used.

1. Does this happen in all submenus, or only in Settings - Controls?
2. Do you have a controller connected, or do you connect it during gameplay?

It works fine on the main menu at first, but when I go into the sub-menus, it stops working.

So the Backspace key isn't working at all for you? You can't exit any of the menus?

@retrofaza - When you change something in the settings and exit (Backspace), a prompt will appear asking if you want to save.

But I can see there’s a bug if you try to set the controls to the arrow keys. Thanks for testing it- I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise.

I’ll try to fix the arrow keys today.

I wanted to configure the arrow keys, but when I go into the menu to change the keyboard settings, the Backspace key no longer works to save the changes!

I've uploaded the updated Apotris file to the archives.

Fixed the arrow key assignments for controls.
Added on-screen hints for controls in the menu (only if a gamepad isn't connected)
