A more updated version of AmiTCP is available and it's open. I'm starting this thread for any potential interest in AROS, which currently still has an outdated TCP stack. Thanks to the active programmers who help us, I have been a user for many years.

As far as I know many of these „new“ things are already implemented in AROSTCP if I‘m looking at the following Link:

As far as I know, I can't get a download rate higher than 400kbs, so there must be something wrong with our stack, but I could be wrong

The link that I provided is for the main branch of AROS ABIv1 which is a few months ahead of Deadwood‘s ABIv11.

You can test a nightly build of AROS ABI v1.

I understand, let's hope something is done for our beloved platform, of course without rushing and if there is any interest, bye

Actually it would be great if you could test the nightly build from www.aros.org. If you get better transfer speeds with that build I would be a clear indication to me that either there are some improvements there in the newer codebase or that I made a mistake with synchronization of existing codebase. Either way we learn something.

ok, I'll test the build when I have a working 64-bit system. Right now I don't have one, but I could try the 32-bit build

Yup, 32-bit should be ok as well I think. Network shouldn't behave different 32-bit vs 64-bit.

Yes, Kalamatee made some improvements at the start of the year that give a huge improvement to transfer speeds over broadband in tests I did at the time. I haven't been following ABIv11 developments closely enough to know if they have been ported over already, but I hope to repeat the tests with ABIv11 soon.

In short, we've always had pretty good speeds over LAN, but speeds were often very slow over broadband until these improvements.
