6 months agoInstalled on AROS One 32Bit GICriptoFile, a programme to encrypt our files using
a proprietary 128-bit symmetric keyalgorithm.
On AROS One I created a datatypes Descriptor so that the encrypted files are recognised by the system by a special Icon, see screenshot.
Since the application was developed in C, I sent an E-Mail to the developer asking for a possible conversion to 64-bit of his Applications present on AROS One and Aminet.

Thanks for releasing the new 64bit image.
Just downloaded Aros One 64bit (USB image) and created a USB Key.
Grub boot fine but "default mode" didn't work (segfault at gallium.hidd as expected as GL mode is not implemented for now i think). "Safe mode 1" work fine on my PC that i use to run the 32 bit of Aros (AMD Phenom II X3 with NVidia GeForce 8800GTS). Audio is not enabled but i copied hdaudio.config from the 32bit release and reboot...now audio is working fine.
Network seems not working.
Tested some few demos and all seems good, next some games (Metal Slug...ok, Soliton...ok, Biniax2... segfault).
Soliton seem to have a bug (maybe) some cards do not want to reveal when shuffle or discover the card under a pile (a have yet to test the 32bit release).
The system is really snappy...and i think is a very good start, congrats to all.

6 months agoYes the file hdaudio.config I unintentionally deleted, to prevent the Grub from automatically booting with “default mode”, edit the file grub.cfg'
set default=1 instead of set default=0
If you want to compile some of your 64Bit demos, GCC 10.5.0 works fine on AROS One.

3 months agoAggiunto su AROS One 32Bit "EasyRPG" !
EasyRPG Player is a program that allows to play games created with RPG Maker 2000 and 2003.
It aims to be a free (as in freedom) cross-platform RPG Maker 2000/2003 interpreter. The main goal is to play all games created with them as the original game interpreter (RPG_RT) does.

Is the absence of the bottom bar with folder information in AROSOne 64-bit intentional? Where can it be restored?

3 months agoIt's my choice. To enable the bar, you need to edit the text file ‘statusbar.prefs’. The change is simple: just change “False” to ‘True’.

3 months agoAlthough AROS 32Bit has migrated to 64Bit, the 32Bit version is currently the most stable and complete, the most stable ever.
In any case, updates will always exist as long as Core or new software is developed for this system.
The latest improvement is on DosBOX, with an improved RunInDOSBox configuration. Now, to run a native MS-DOS file (script, programme, game), a single click is all it takes, and the DOSBox path will be found automatically.
In the attached screenshot, ‘The Settlers 2 Gold Edition’ is launched by simply clicking on its icon.

3 months agoSince Dopus4 creates conflicts and Guru errors on virtual machines where it is not possible to mount a floppy drive, I decided to move the ‘trackdisk.device’ to the Storage system folder.
The trackdisk.device located in Storage can still be used to mount FAT16 (PC0) floppy drives, both physical and floppy image versions.
To mount FAT32 floppy disks, simply click on the appropriate icon in Utilities. Of course, both the native PC and the virtual machine must have the floppy disk inserted in the drive.
To unmount the FAT floppy disk, you will need to do so from the VM preferences, as you would normally do with a USB stick!
