TLDR: >>>> https://github.com/deadw00d/AROS/labels/IBOTM <<<<

Here were are with another IBOTM! We continue with bug-fixing fun!

General rules are simple:

1) Bugs are selected from bugs reported > bug tracker
2) There is a poll made and community selects one bug from suggested bugs
3) I fix the bug.
4) Delay(1 month); Go To 1;

The initial list of bugs will be related to ABIv0 i386 or ABIv11 x86_64. In effect bugs specific to m68k AROS or any other AROS flavor won't be added to poll options. Bugs can be in either AROS core system or in Contrib package. Bugs need to be reproducible on clean system releases, so bugs visible only on distributions won't be included.

In my opinion, all Bugs are important as they affect the operating system, but given the lack of compatibility, I would prioritise "
Add an easy way to enable tethering in Network preferences "

Hello,

And finally here is a fix for January's bug!

https://axrt.org/development/Boot_1.4.i386-aros.zip

There are a few changes:
* fix for 32bit checkmark in ATA arguments
* removed obsolete enableusb argument and replaced it with noioapic argument
* added support for ATA=disable
* added support for AHCI and NVME arguments

Let me know if it works correctly for you and edits grub.cfg

Note1: the archive contains update catalog files, unless you use english, you need to update them
Note2: the binary is compiled with new C library. If you want to use it on current version of AROS, the archive contains additional libraries you need to install.

Ok thanks, if I understand correctly on my AROS One 2.4 (C Library), I "don't have" to use the libraries contained in Libs, but I just have to use the catalogs and the "Boot" file

About the grub.cfg file, I didn't understand what to do ! do I need to change anything?

That's correct, you don't have install libraries

The archive contains Prefs/Boot preferences program which allows you to edit the first entry in grub.cfg. I'd like people to test if the program works correctly for them, that is the configuration they choose in the program gets written to grub.cfg.

With Boot i tried to edit something and the grub.cfg file was saved correctly.

I noticed that if I delete the grub.cfg file, and try to save a new grub.cfg, it is saved a file named grub.cfg.tmp of 0 Byte

The program needs the old file to save the new file so it's won't work with grub.cfg deleted.

Thanks for tests @Amiwell79, @AMIGASYSTEM. Let's see if other will test as well.

@deadwood
About grub.cfg.tmp it was my curiosity, I had guessed it but I wanted confirmation, thank you !

@Amiwell79
Regarding the floppy drivers you mentioned, which file did you delete and why ?

in the 'boot' preference tool I disabled the floppy driver because I do not need it

Since there doesn't see to be any more tests done, I'm closing January's bug. Looking forward to next month's voting that will be opened in a couple of days!
