Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
Important !!!!!
Do not update AROS One 64-Bit v11 with the new Build 2026.09, otherwise AROS One will not boot.
Essentially, parts of GRUB have been changed and updated. If you really want to update it with this build, do not copy the Boot/Grub folder; doing so will allow it to boot, but there is a risk of ending up with duplicate system files.
My advice for updating AROS One to 2026.09 is:
- Wait for the new version of AROS One 64-bit based on this new Build 2026.09; this will be available in a few weeks or sooner, depending on when I finish testing some of my new software that’s currently in development.
- Alternatively, there is Build 20250418-1-U4, an update package that upgrades AROS One 64-bit version 20250418-1 to version 2026.09. This package does not include the GRUB update.

Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
The new Stable Build 2026.09 was released today, so we can now begin building the new AROS One 1.4.
There will be many new features; in addition to the Core update, there will be a lot of software, including some I’ve developed myself.
Given the many new games and ports, to avoid creating an AROS One distribution that is too large and slow to install, I have decided to remove the games from AROS One and release them separately as AROS One Games v1.4, which in the future could become a standalone, self-booting distribution with a basic mini OS..Responded in AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress

Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
That was a very fast installation!
I'm very satisfied with how responsive AROS One 64bit is.
Now I can compile & test my MUI applications on 64bit.
Targa Datatype 64bit is working.Responded in AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress

Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
No, leave the default 8 GB, it's dynamic; the size isn't fixed. VMware adjusts the size based on the data stored.Responded in AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress

Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
Thanks for the information.
I'm running out of storage space on my VMWare computer. I only have 30GB left. I suppose I can allocate 4GB RAM and 15GB for AROS HDD?
I will add a new m.2 SATA SSD to add more space for programming.Responded in AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress

Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
Much simpler and more functional than VirtualBox, you just need to configure the following:
Select Guest Operating System
- Other
- Other 64-Bit
Customize Hardware
- Minimum RAM: 6 GB
- Add USB Controller 1.1
- Add Floppy Drive (Do not connect at power-on)
Leave the other options at their default settings; you don't need to change anything.Responded in AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress

Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
AMIGASYSTEM
I'm downloading and installing AROS One x86-64 in VMWare Workstation Pro.
Mostly I'll be using it on a regular basis for compiling and testing software.
Are there any special VMWare settings or instructions about setting up a VM
for use with AROS One? I'm downloading v1.3 as a ISO if that helps any.

Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
Derek, have you tried a different build? Maybe the problem isn't with AROS One but with AROS in general, or maybe the issue has been fixed in the updated builds.Responded in AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress

Re: AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress
Hi,
I have some strange behaviour on my HP T630 with AROS One x64 v2.3 installed.
All works perfectly connecting to the Internet and Samba share by Ethernet.
I have a USB Joystick controller, connected to the system and all games work great with the Joystick Controller.
If I leave the Joystick connected to the front USB connector and power up the T630, the HP bios loads and proceeds to load AROS, but hangs at a blank screen.
If I disconnect the Joystick from the USB connector the T630 boots up okay.
I have disabled all USB boot devices in the HP BIOS. It looks like AROS is trying to boot from the USB.
So I connect the Joystick after AROS has booted up.Responded in AROS One ABIv11 64Bit Work In Progress

Re: bsdsocket error
So there are ghosts in my machine, interesting. I'm running native PC's, better do as Deadwood says and hit that "More" button. Funny, I've worked as a Developer for 25 years but are still lousy at writing bugs and testing :)Responded in bsdsocket error

Re: bsdsocket error
@ami-elvis
Where are you running AROS One on a native PC, a Windows VM, or a Linux VM?
If you're using a Windows VM, SMB2 is disabled every 15 minutes of inactivity.
SMB2 automatically re-enables itself as soon as you click on the share or its volume, so it shouldn't trigger that Guru error; I've never experienced it.Responded in bsdsocket error

Re: bsdsocket error
Do you have an active connection? Like maybe SMB share mounted?
Next time you get the crash, be sure to click "More..." button and show full stack trace. :)Responded in bsdsocket error

Re: bsdsocket error
Whenever I leave my AROS machine alone for awhile (I know, I shouldn't) when I return 15-20 minutes later this error is there. Is it something i can fix? I've never seen that happen as long as I'm actively using the machine.
